Day 14: Why am I going to Paris?

The past week or rather the past year has been in anticipation of today, tomorrow, and next week. Tomorrow I am going to Paris, yes, Paris, France, the place with the Eiffel Tower. I will be travelling with Julie, my stepmother, and the cremains of my dad who passed away last year. My dad was born in 1933 and lived a happy life he had many accomplishments three of whom will be in Paris together to celebrate their father’s life. It has been hectic in the house lately. Beth has been busy cleaning, organizing, cleaning, and organizing. She has literally been working herself silly getting ready for Julie to arrive and stay the night. William and Olivia are excited about greeting their step-grandmother. William met a few years ago but he has not seen her since 2004. Olivia has never met her and it is an opportunity to meet a person who has had an important part of my life. I will be picking her up tonight at O’Hare. She will stay with us overnight and we will depart Saturday afternoon for Paris and six days with my two brothers – Warren and David.

I know these days will count. I will be working to add daily content – so please check back and follow our journey. I will follow up on the other side of the Atlantic.

  1. Aloha Clayton~

Been trying to keep up with your blog, but I just don’t know where the time goes.
I’ve finally read your entries of Paris and wanted to let you know how sorry I am about the passing of your father. This past June was 2 years since my Mom passed away…still miss her. We have her cremains on the mantle…she didn’t want her ashes spread until we could spread her with my Pop.
I hope all is well with you and yours…according to your blogs, they seem to be!
Did I tell you? I FINALLY received my Associate Science Degree! Working on that Bachelor’s now 🙂
    Stay well – God Bless

    1. I am sorry to hear about your mom, we are never really prepared when our parents health begin to fail and it is difficult coming to grips with their passing. I find comfort in all of the things I do remember about our realtionship – about whatb he taught me and what I learned from him.. I am glad you were able to read the blogs – when I look back I find all fo the things I could have written better or the details I left out… hope all is well with you – remembering our time working together at VdF!
