Saturday morning sunrise

a great way to start the day…

It’s great when I can sleep until the sun rises, usually I am on my way to school, and dropping W off on the way as the sun peaks over the horizon and new day begins. I would have missed it, but I set my alarm to get up early this morning, but I let it snooze and slept in. I needed it.  I really needed to get a good night’s rest.

It was a treat to see the pinky-orange sky reveal a lightly frosted landscape this morning. It’ll burn off and I’ll get out, rake up the last few pockets of leaves, cover the lawn furniture, and clean the yard for the last time. It’ll be a good day to do it. Last weekend, I was out in shorts and a sweatshirt. This week, I’ll need to wear pants, but it could be raining, this week is sunny. It rained and been miserable before and it probably will, again. We had a few flurries early last week, and there is no snow on the horizon, but, late fall is here and winter is coming. It is inevitable.

Next week is Thanksgiving and my kids are off school, they have the full week off and I have to teach the first two days next week, and then my students and I are off, too. It will be good to gather with family this week and to be together and give our thanks. Last week is a blur, though I have a stack of papers to prove it existed. My students finished their narratives, and I did, too. However, I did not publish daily as I have the past two years and I missed the thinking daily writing and posting brings, but last week other priorities had a higher number and I didn’t make it happen. I’ll publish later this weekend.

Yesterday morning, I awoke from a dream that I had won the lottery. Strange. Nonetheless, I stopped along the way home and invested in a dream, or two, or three. The tickets are tucked away in my wallet and I’ll check to find that I have, maybe one number right. Arrrggghhhh.

Last night no dreams, but the dreamy early pinky-orange sunrise was a great way to begin the day. It’s still early Saturday morning and it’s quiet, for now. I’d better get rolling, it’s gonna be a great day, I know it, I can feel it. Making the Days Count, one day at a time, one dream, one ticket, one number.

How did your day begin this morning? Or your night end, last night?
