order – a photo challenge

Summer would not be summer without red geraniums blooming on the deck overlooking the lake. Today is summer vacation day three with many more on the horizon. This morning I am Up North on the shores of Lake Margrethe. It’s relaxing coming here, but it comes with a price set up and maintenance. This is the setup visit and maybe I’ll be able to squeeze in some relaxation time into the order of business.

There is order to our work. The dock and lifts must go in first, then the boats, then of course a bit of fun, then yard work.

Thursday morning view of the lake

Yesterday we got the dock and lifts in and one of the boats – the Sea-Doo. The Sea-Doo is the easiest of the boats to get in the water, and according to O, the boat with the most fun potential. She gave it a ride once it was in. Getting the dock in was actually easier than I anticipated. In previous summers, we’ve paid someone to do it for us and if it hadn’t been for my nephew it would have been a bit more difficult but we would have made it happen.

There is order to everything in life, even when it seems as if life is random or that I am reacting instead of acting. I believe Willie Wonka said it best,

“There is so much time, and so little to do. Strike that, reverse it.”

Time is what helps provide order, it’s infinite, but finite in my use. I have the daylight to work, then I have night to recover, it’s the cycle that enforces order.

there is order even in sleep

The lake is like glass this morning, it’s cool, sunny, and early morning dew coats the lawn. Everyone including Ivy is asleep, I am awake and writing. It’s gonna be a great day, so I had better jump up, jump in, and seize the day. Making the Days Count, one day a time, in order – morning, afternoon, evening, then sleep. Repeat.

Is there an order to the way you do things? What is the order of your day?

geraniums and a golf ball….

Today’s post is inspired by this week’s WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge: Order. This week, share your take on order, whether literal, figurative, or anything in between (and sure — showing it next to a healthy dose of messiness is fine, too). From library stacks to sock drawers and from ancient temples to modern train stations, let your inner disciplinarian take over.

    1. Ivy is an inspiration to me as well… she sleeps and rests quite a bit and does so with elegance and ease… yesterday and the day before were rather warm outside, so we stayed inside and out of harms way – she laid beside me dutifully and provided inspiration to rest, relax, and avoid the heat. Have a wonderful week and thanks for stopping in. Peace.

Thanks for visiting MtDC. How are YOU Making YOUR Days Count?
