Foggy Friday – Day 53

It’s Friday and I am by the lake again, but I should write, we are all by the lake. W and I joined the B and O yesterday morning. It’s a foggy Friday morning and it’s day 53 of summer break, 20 remain.

the lake and the ducks… they are mallards

I love the lake and July is our time to be at the lake. We’ve been here almost every month, but July is the best time to be here. It’s usually warm with cool nights, though sometimes it’s very hot, and sometimes it rains, or storms. But whatever the weather being by the lake is peaceful and relaxing. It’s even better when we are ALL here.

I was up early before the house awoke and came to life. Ivy had been out and was back inside lying on the footstool and I was sipping my coffee beginning the day.  I paused to gaze across the lake to watch the fog lifting off the lake and thick low clouds hugging the hills.

By the time I had reached the edge of the dock, the lake fog had lifted in front our cottage and dock. The lake fog was still visible to the north but had lifted in front of us.

the view to the north…. lake fog still rising

Now, the lake fog has lifted completely, but it’s still cloudy. There is a steady wind from the north and I can see patches of blue sky competing with the clouds. It’s gonna be a great day.

It’s July by the lake and it’s going to be a great day I know it and I can feel it, it could possibly the be best day ever. So, I’d better jump up, jump in, and seize the day. Making the Days Count, one day at a time whatever the day brings. Making them count.

What does the day look like where you are?

    1. Thank you – sending some of our rain your way – at least in my mind. We’ve had a wet year at home and it was drier here but it has turned the past week or so. I am reminded there is a season for everything under the sun… cooler wetter days are in teh future for your moors. Today is sunny and clear and the birds are singing.. more on the birds later. Have wonderful week ahead!

  1. Something mysterious about fog. I love fog, but I hate to drive in it. So, if you can just sit and enjoy it, it’s pretty neat.

Enjoy the rest of your summer break. Looks like it’s going to be spectacular.

    1. I agree mysterious and scary to drive in…. the days at the lake are finished when the sun sets today. I am sad, but it has been a great summer for a lot of reasons.

Fun fact(s) – fog is really low clouds and fog and clouds form when when the air temperature and the dew point are equal. Science is cool. Have a wonderful Sunday and great week ahead.
