W^2 – Yellow, again

Yellow is all about me and it seems to be a recurring theme.

These daffodils were picked by a friend of my step-mom’s – they are as a fragrant as they are beautiful. They bring brightness to her room…… and courage, hope, happiness, optimism, and warmth.

It is going to be a great day, I know it and I can feel it, so I’d better jump up, jump in, and seize the day. Making the Days Count one day at a time, especially one day at a time.

What brightens you day today?

  1. You have daffodils already? In Michigan, today, they are expecting between 2 and 9 inches of snow. Nothing much blooming there. Luckily I am currently in DC where I saw a quince shrub in bloom yesterday! Also some sort of tree that was growing over a heat vent. OK, it was raining and in the 40s so sort of miserable, but it wasn’t 9 inches of snow either. Anyway, daffodils are some of my favorite blooms and I hope they made your mom smile.

    1. Dawn, thank you. I am a little further south in northern Mississippi helping my step-mom navigate the next steps in life. It was 70 on Sunday. Today rainy and 30s and 40s but still better than 20s and snow which is what home is today. Those flowers sure do brighten the room! I love daffodils, too.

  2. just today sent out 2 short videos on my mini-daffs blooming all over the place. I planted them in October and out they are… way over 100. The large ones also are starting to show their frocks. I already picked and put in water at least 7 in the last 2 weeks – the garden is getting it…. primroses, dark violet Christmas roses, crocus, the tulips are showing up too….. makes me happy 😉

      1. Yes, we’re extremely fortunate to have such an early arrival of spring blooms. I also care very much for them, the mini daffs are in planters I tend to take into the veranda (winter garden) over the cold days. The magnolia buds are already a good 5cm and everything is sprouting and reaching up to the sun.
