“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
Dr. Suess – from I Can Read With My Eyes Shut
I am always reading something – a book, a magazine, the newspaper, or a blog. There is a big world out there and I can only visit so many places on my own – even with a bucket list. We all learn from stories and I can discover so much more by reading about other people’s experiences and learn from their mistakes or successes. I am often reading several titles at the same time!
I learnt to read with Dr Seuss books, “Are you my Mother?”, “Green eggs and ham”, “The Cat in the Hat” and the Dr Seuss Dicionary… whenever I see Dr Seuss books now it takes me right back…
My personal favorite was “Yertle the Turtle” I remember my mom reading the story to me over and over again, night after night. years later, when my son was born, a new copy arrived wrapped with a dedication to him. Dr. Seuss does indeed bring back memories. Thanks for stopping in – have a wonderful week.
My fav Dr. Seuss: Oh The Places You’ll Go! Best graduation gift I got! I read this book all the time when I’m feeling…..anything at all!
Dr. Seuss is a wonderful tonic – anytime. My two favorite stories are Yertle the Turtle and Oh, The Places You Will Go – they were both gifts from my mother when my son was born, and when I earned my degree in teaching. Great stories with great morals and lessons. Kids don’t always get them, but they remember the stories.
