delta – a photo challenge

Moments in time – early morning, last day of June, or Friday.

“Nothing is really work unless you would rather do something else.” Sir James Barrie

I am stuck for more – beginnings and endings, the edge of something new or the end of a month a week, or even – night and day.

dew drops cling to the lily buds in the early morning light

This week’s weather has been typical early summer. It was cool and dry at the beginning of the week and it has transitioned to warm and humid. This morning when I ventured out into the garden to capture my ‘delta’ photos the lawn was covered in the morning dew. Last night’s air was saturated with water vapor and overnight in condensed and settled across the landscape.

lilies in all states of being – flower and bud – all blossoming with color in the garden

Monday morning, I noticed the lilies were beginning to open and spread their color throughout the back garden. This morning, yesterday’s blossoms had closed and were waiting for today’s sunlight to reopen and then there are the buds waiting to open for the first time and spread their yellow hues along the fence line.

Soon, by midday, the dew will be gone, lifted back into the air by the morning sun only to return when the sun fades and night returns.

Friday is here and I have a long list of shoulds, coulds, and woulds. So, I’d better jump and join the day and jump in, jump out, and seize the day. Making the Days Count, one day at a time, just like the dew.

When was the last time you ventured out into the dewy morning? What did you discover?

Today’s post is inspired by this week’s WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge: Delta. This week, share a photograph that signifies transitions and change to you. It can be the very beginning of a phase, or the very end. As you pick up your lens, explore the ways in which a single photograph can express time, while only showing us a small portion of any given moment.

    1. thank you, the dewy shots were luck – went out to capture the flowers and got something new and different. I woke up in a different place this morning and the deck was coated with dew, followed by a gentle rain, tomorrow morning I am exploring in the morning. It’s gonna be a great day.

    1. thank you. the temperature and humidity changed and it was much more comfortable the following day… still wet in the morning, but not nearly as dewy.. love the morning – quiet and peaceful – enjoy your Sunday!
