W^2 or W squared for Wordless Wednesday, November 12, 2025

Yesterday, I had heard about the possibility our area would be able to see the northern lights, but by the time I had gotten home I had forgotten.

Fortunately, I saw several messages from friends with their photos of the Northern Lights and I went outside to see for myself.

At first I couldn’t see them, but my daughter joined me outside. While she stood beside me she pointed and said she could see them – her eyes are better than mine. So, I trusted her and used my phone camera to capture them – it is more sensitive to the light than I am. What a beautiful sight. The light pollution in our area limits what we can see, but I have to trust that it is there.

Some times I have to let the light shine and trust that it is reaching me. It’s Wednesday and middle of the week and I am going to make the day count. It is going to be an amazing day. I know it and I can feel it, so I’d better jump up, jump in, and seize the day.

When was the last time you had to trust that something was there, even if you couldn’t see it?

    1. Oh Margaret one day the opportunity will present itself and you will see them, camera or eye….the colors are remarkable. The next morning a parent who was flying at the time, sent me her photos. Remarkable. Enjoy the last of November and all that December brings. Peace.

  1. Lovely photo! I did a 5K rowing race on Saturday in a single scull, which is a tiny, narrow boat that is rowed while facing backwards. Navigating along the course requires taking a quick glance over a shoulder every few strokes, while trusting that there won’t be a submerged log or other unseen obstacle. It’s kind of scary, but I am more confident than I used to be.

    1. Thank you for stopping in Meg. That does sound scary, but from what I have read on your blog you are fairly experienced rower, if that’s the right word. I do hope the course is straight! Trust is such an important part of each day, isn’t it? Stay well, peace.

  2. How wonderful that you got to see those beautiful lights. Trust. It’s such a tangible precious thing that teases us with its infinite possibilities that all will be well and that all is as it should be. I think we all seek to find it and hold onto it. In our topsy turvy world it’s a beautiful thing. Keep dancing, keep enjoying each moment and making each day count. Life is full of joys just waiting to be noticed!

    1. You are so right, sometimes you have to slow down and look around. Trust that things are going to work out, so true. Thank you for stopping in and enjoy the summer where you are, it is winter here. Full on! Peace.

  3. First of all, I am sooooo glad you got to see the Aurora! I had a notification that there might be strong lights last night, but of course I had band until 9:30 and by then some sort of stomach bug had engulfed me and I can home and went to bed only to get up and throw up all night…so…no going in search of the Lady Light last night for me. I am hoping someday there will be another big burst and I’ll be in a better position to find a place free of clouds to watch!

As for relying on something I can’t see? I think daily we do that in some sense. Whatever our faith, we have to trust that things are going to be OK, otherwise how would we manage to get through even one day?

    1. I read your comment when it posted, then I opened my school e-mail to find a parent who is pilot for American Airlines had sent me photos she had taken while flying the night before. They were incredible. Belief and faith are what keep’s me going, too. I am so thankful. Stay well and peace.
